What FAFSA won’t cover, these funds could.

Fill out your FAFSA application and complete the Student Emergency Grant  form, and you could be joining our student body in January!

Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, McDowell Technical Community College can distribute Student Emergency Grants to those affected in partnership with the North Carolina Community College System. The grant is designed for hurricane-affected students enrolled at McDowell Technical Community College during the Fall 2024 semester or as part of a Workforce Continuing Education program.

*Federal or state funds will be applied to your account prior to student relief funds.

All students residing in an impacted area** are potentially eligible for grants given according to need (as resources allow) to support a student’s continued enrollment or graduation, including costs related (but not limited) to:

  • Transportation
  • Living Expenses
