2023 MTCC Honor Society Members and Departmental Standouts

McDowell Technical Community College announced today new inductees to the college’s Phi Theta Kappa and National Technical Honor Societies, as well as a select group of individuals who received a variety of departmental awards for the 2022-2023 academic year. Students were honored and received certificates in a ceremony Monday afternoon. A reception followed the ceremony.

Another group of heroes-in-training completed McDowell Technical Community College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program last Friday evening. During the group’s graduation ceremony, instructor and keynote speaker William Kehler announced that 100% of this group of students passed state competency exams at their respective levels.

McDowell Technical Community College proudly announced the recipients of the college’s third annual Alumni Awards on Monday during a ceremony held in the Crane Resistoflex Auditorium on the college’s main campus. The winners represent a cross-section of alumni who attended McDowell Tech over a period of more than 35 years.

SORBA Summit Partnership Brings Hundreds of Mtn. Bikers to McDowell & MTCC

The Northwest NC MTB Alliance, a regional chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA), partnered with McDowell Technical Community College and brought more than 250 registered participants and their family members to Old Fort and McDowell County this week for what SORBA has described as a full-week of “trail stewardship” at the gateway to the Pisgah National Forest, where miles of new hiking and biking trails opened just this year.
