Kim Ledbetter Food Pantry

If you’re facing challenges with food access, or simply need a helping hand through a difficult time, the Kim Ledbetter Food Pantry is here for you.

At McDowell Tech, we believe that no student should have to choose between their education and a nourishing meal, and we understand that achieving academic success means supporting every aspect of student well-being. Our food pantry is open to all students who need it, providing support in times of need with care, respect, and confidentiality.

The Kim Ledbetter Food Pantry is provides reliable access to food resources for our students, helping ease the burden of food insecurity. Available to all MTCC students, the pantry offers a welcoming, private space to access essentials—completely free of charge.

The pantry is well stocked with a variety of non-perishable food items for all mealtimes, staple ingredients, and delicious healthy snacks, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Our mission is to make sure that every student has the nourishment needed to succeed, without the added worry of food access.

Call 828-652-0622 or 828-659-0444, or stop by Student Services in the Cedar Building (Building 11). You can also send us a message online using our (totally confidential) form by clicking on the button below.

All requests made to food pantry are completely confidential

To make accessing essentials even easier, we have placed food boxes at convenient locations around campus, allowing students to collect food anonymously and without any need for contact. These boxes are stocked with basic staples, ensuring you can grab what you need discreetly and quickly.

You’ll find the food boxes located on the quad between Building 4 and Building 19, as well as near the far side of Building 17. They’re here to offer you support when you need it, no questions asked—just one more way McDowell Tech is here to help you stay focused on your studies and well-being.

The Food Pantry is named in honor and memory of a former employee, Kim Ledbetter, who spearheaded efforts to start and maintain the food pantry.

We are grateful for her legacy, and are proud of the opportunity to continue her wonderful efforts to provide for our students.
