Planned Giving 

Estate planning is something most people tend to put off until later. When you focus on  the legacy you want to leave, the decision gets a lot easier. With a planned estate gift,  you can establish a bright future for students attending McDowell Technical Community  College. The Foundation can work with you to make sure the gift you leave will have the  impact you desire. There are many ways to make a charitable bequest, including: cash,  securities, life insurance, and/or a gift of other assets. 

Securities 

Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, or other securities allow you to make substantial gifts  to the Foundation at minimal cost. You will receive a tax deduction based on the value  of the security on the date of the gift and will avoid paying capital gains tax on any  appreciation.

Matching Gifts 

Many corporations will match their current and retired employees’ charitable  

contributions, which maximizes the amount of the original gift. Your Human Resources  department will know if your company matches gifts. If this is the case, donors must  complete a designated process with their companies to ensure that matching gifts come  to the MTCC Foundation.
