Class of 2024 ADN Nursing Graduates

The Inaugural Class of 2024 Associate Degree Nursing Graduates from McDowell Technical Community College were pinned during a ceremony on Thursday night at Nebo Crossing Church in Marion.

Twenty-seven students completed all graduation requirements for their nursing degree and are now eligible to sit for their NCLEX Nursing Exam, required of all candidates nationwide who wish to become Registered Nurses. Instructor Penny Lonon was keynote speaker for the event and nursing student Erica Davis provided special music for the group. In addition to receiving their nursing pins, each student received a replica of the Florence Nightingale lamp, a longstanding tradition that pays homage to Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Four students were honored with special awards during the ceremony: Keisha O’Keefe (Spirit of Nursing Award), Elizabeth Lail (Academic Excellence Award), Jaime Piocuda (Clinical Excellence Award) and Colton Bridges (Overall Outstanding Nursing Student).
