Applications for Fall BLET Program Now Being Accepted

Applications are now being accepted for our part-time Basic Law Enforcement Training program which will begin on August 15th. Classes run from 6:00pm – 10:00pm nightly, Monday-Thursday, with some required weekends throughout the fall. Due to the lengthy application process, applicants are strongly advised to schedule an appointment, fill out the application packet and turn it in as soon as possible.

Applications for Fall BLET Program Now Being Accepted

All applications must be submitted by July 25 2022 due to the increased time on uniform orders. McDowell Technical Community College’s BLET program is still free to all students who apply. Interested students may contact the Law Enforcement Training Center at 828-652-0633. 

MACA Hosting MTCC Photography Student Work Thru April 15

McDowell Technical Community College announced today that the college’s photographic technology program will have a gallery exhibit of student work on display at McDowell Arts Council Association (MACA) from March 21st through April 15th as part of the college’s ongoing collaboration with MACA.

Dr. James “J.W.” Kelley To Become New MTCC President

The McDowell Technical Community College Board of Trustees announced today that Dr. James “J.W.” Kelley of Wendell, NC has been selected to become the college’s next president, succeeding Dr. Brian S. Merritt who resigned last summer to accept a position as Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at the NC Community College System Office in Raleigh.
