Sealed proposals for Single Prime Bids will be received by McDowell Technical Community College up to 3:00 p.m. on May 2, 2019, in the Board Room of Building #17, 54 College Drive, Marion, North Carolina 28752, for the construction of McDowell Technical Community College Cosmetology Center (SCO #17-16800-01, NCCCS #2251), at which time and place bids will be opened and read. This is new construction of approximately 13,700sf, single-story building to house Cosmetology, Esthetics, general classrooms and lab spaces.
An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders on April 16, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the location noted above. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms, including MBE forms.
The meeting is also to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards that the Owner will consider for approval on this project.
In accordance with GS 133-3 and SCO procedures, the following preferred brand items are being considered by the Owner for this project:
Alternate No. 8: Provide controls by Johnson Controls as detailed in specification section 230900 – Building Automation System.
Contract documents will be open for inspection in the offices of McDowell Technical Community College, Holland & Hamrick Architects, P.A. and in the plan rooms of the Associated General Contractors, Carolinas Branch, Charlotte, Dodge Plan Room, Construction Market Data, Norcross, GA, and in Minority Plan Rooms in Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas (HCAC) in Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh Areas and Metrolina Minority Contractors Association, Charlotte.

Qualified prime bidders may obtain one complete set of contract documents from Holland & Hamrick Architects, P.A. upon deposit of $150.00 in cash or certified check. Paper copies can be obtained from CADCopy & Supply (Phone: 704-487-8815) for the cost of printing.
The state reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.
